Academic & Organization Licensing

Voltrus tools are native macOS apps for industrial protocol work: Modbus, OPC UA, BACnet, DNP3, EtherNet/IP, and S7. Individuals buy them per tool on the Mac App Store or direct from this site. Organizations can license the suite in bulk: one invoice, multiple seats, and a purchasing process your procurement team can actually run.

Built for classrooms, labs, and engineering teams

The same tools engineers use in the field, licensed for the places people learn and work with industrial protocols.

Universities

Teaching industrial networks and automation: protocol labs on student Macs instead of Windows VM images.

Vocational Schools

Hands-on protocol practice for technicians in training, on the hardware they already have.

Training Centers

Prepared course stations for industrial training courses and certification prep.

Research Labs

Test benches and rigs that speak Modbus, BACnet, OPC UA, or DNP3, without a Windows license per bench.

System Integrators

Commissioning and integration testing across client sites, licensed per team instead of per Mac.

Manufacturing Companies

Engineering and maintenance teams that test, diagnose, and verify field devices.

One license instead of a stack of receipts

Single invoice

One vendor, one document. Purchasing handles a single quote and invoice instead of a stack of App Store receipts.

Multi-seat usage

A Team, Academic Lab, or Site license covers the whole group. Reimage a workstation or swap a Mac: the seat stays yours.

No repeated purchases

License the tool set once per organization instead of collecting individual purchases Mac by Mac.

Easier procurement

Quotes, purchase orders, and bank transfer or card payment: we work the way your purchasing department already does.

Dedicated support options

License administrators get a direct support channel, with response-time options when a deployment needs them.

Offline and native

Every tool is a native macOS app. Discovery, polling, and browsing run locally on the Mac, with no cloud service in the loop and no Windows VM.

From a single student to a whole site

Individual tiers are the same one-time App Store purchases available today. Organization tiers are one-time prices covering the whole suite; multi-site and custom seat counts are quoted through the form.

Tier Who it is for Seats Price
Student Individual use: coursework, thesis, self-study 1 From $9.99 per tool
Professional Individual engineer 1 From $9.99 per tool
Team License Small teams and integrators Up to 5 users $299 one-time
Academic Lab License Classroom and laboratory use One lab or classroom $399 one-time
Enterprise Site License Organization-wide deployment Unlimited From $1,199

All tiers are one-time purchases, no subscription. Organization tiers come with a single invoice and licenses for every covered seat. Multi-site deals or custom seat counts: send the form and we reply with a quote.

Per-tool prices

Tool Single license
BACnet Explorer $19.99
Modbus Poll $14.99
MQTT Explorer $14.99
NATS Explorer $14.99
S7 Explorer $14.99
DNP3 Explorer $14.99
EtherNet/IP Explorer $14.99
OPC-UA Explorer $14.99
BLE Inspector $9.99
Serial Terminal $9.99
PasteHere $9.99

Single licenses are per Mac, sold on the Mac App Store or direct. Every organization tier covers all eleven tools. Need the stack running as an always-on production server? That is Voltrus Gateway: one typed gRPC API over Modbus, OPC UA, DNP3, BACnet, EtherNet/IP, and S7, licensed separately per host.

Common questions

Do you offer university licenses?

Yes. The Academic Lab License covers classroom and laboratory use at universities, vocational schools, and training centers. It is one license for the whole lab instead of one purchase per student Mac.

Can multiple students use the software?

With an Academic Lab License, yes: every covered seat in the classroom or lab can run the tools. Students who want the software on their own Macs can buy the individual App Store version.

Do you provide invoices for organizations?

Yes. Organization licenses are invoiced directly by us: one invoice for the whole purchase, with payment options your procurement team can work with.

Do you offer offline deployment?

The tools work offline: discovery, polling, and browsing all run locally on the Mac, with no cloud service in the loop. If your machines are air-gapped, mention it in the contact form and we will arrange licensing that activates offline.

Do you offer volume discounts?

Yes. Team, Academic Lab, and Enterprise Site licenses bundle the whole suite at a lower per-seat cost than buying individual licenses. For larger seat counts or multiple sites, send the contact form and we quote.
