Installation
CNC Explorer is a native macOS app, not on the Mac App Store. Download the notarized DMG, open it, and drag the app to Applications.
Download
- Free download: dl-cnc-explorer.voltrus.id
- Pro licence: $39.99 one-time from the Voltrus Console. One key activates one Mac and can be moved.
System Requirements
| Requirement | Minimum |
|---|---|
| macOS | 13 Ventura or newer (Apple Silicon and Intel) |
| MTConnect | An agent reachable over HTTP (MTConnect 1.x or 2.x documents) |
| FANUC | A controller with the Ethernet function enabled, reachable on TCP port 8193 (Beta) |
Licence activation needs an internet connection once. Afterwards the app works offline.
Quick Start
1. Connect to an MTConnect agent
- Set Connection type to MTConnect agent.
- Enter the agent URL, for example
http://localhost:5000. Leave Device empty for all devices, or name one. - Connect. The Data, Conditions, Devices and Assets tabs fill from the agent's probe, current, sample and assets documents.
2. Connect to a FANUC controller (Beta)
- Set Connection type to FANUC (FOCAS/Ethernet) Beta.
- Enter the controller's host and port (default 8193).
- Use Overview, Axes, Program, Alarms, Macros and Parameters, diagnosis, PMC to read the machine.
Configuration
| Connection | Field | Default |
|---|---|---|
| MTConnect | Agent URL | http://localhost:5000 |
| MTConnect | Timeout / stream interval | 10000 ms / 500 ms |
| FANUC | Host / port | 192.168.1.100 / 8193 |
| FANUC | Timeout / poll interval | 5000 ms / 1000 ms |
The free version keeps one saved profile and streams 10 MTConnect items live. Pro removes both limits.
Simulators (Pro)
Switch Mode to Simulator. The agent simulator serves /probe, /current, /sample and /assets for a 3-axis VMC or a 2-axis lathe, with an optional SHDR adapter port (default HTTP 5000, SHDR 7878). The CNC simulator answers FOCAS/Ethernet requests with a 31i-B or 0i-F identity (default port 8193). Connect the client to 127.0.0.1 to try either. The simulator's identity strings and parameter, diagnosis and PMC values are made up, not recorded from hardware.
Troubleshooting
- Agent does not connect: open the agent URL in a browser on the same Mac. If it fails there, check the network and firewall.
- FANUC times out: confirm the Ethernet function is on, the IP is reachable and port 8193 is open. Raise the timeout on slow links.
- Licence key rejected: enter it with its dashes, with internet access for the first activation. See Support.
